11/28/1933, live simulcast: "La Bohème: Lucrezia Bori (Mimì), Dino Borgioli (Rudolfo), Emily Hardy (Musetta), Richard Bonelli (Marcello), Alfredo Gandolfi (Schaunard), Ezio Pinza (Colline); Gaetano Merola. Through a partnership with the SF Art Commission, the performance was simulcast to an audience in the Civic Auditorium via “public address system” where an estimated 5,000 listened for free over the loudspeakers. During the Act III intermission, the stars were taken by car to the Auditorium, a block away, to take a bow before returning to the Opera House to finish the opera."
