The performance of November 1 was a student matinee.

The San Francisco Opera Guild organized an essay competition. Students were to submit short essays on the topics given; winners were to be "awarded two tickets apiece for the student performance to be given by the Opera Guild in 1941."

George Stinson, who was singing the role of Radames, achieved some notoriety locally as "The Singing Cop." He was a member of the California Highway Patrol.
